Graphite pencil, 2018

This piece looks at the fragility of hope. To the average person, hope is an essential part of their lives. It gives you something to work towards, something to look forward to, but it can also cause pain when left unfulfilled. From this, a cycle can develop: building hope, losing it, and choosing to start again. It can be a difficult process but the only other option is to give up on the dream your hope stems from. It is choosing perseverance over defeat.
